What if young people, educators, and families designed the future of school?
Austin ISD is partnering with the Choice Filled Lives Network on the external research project 100 Days of Conversations about Schools, a collaborative project organized to propel conversations in communities across the country in each of the first 100 days of the new presidential administration. The deadline to participate has been extended to May 31 due to its popularity!
The district promotes diverse groups of students, families, and community members in conversations with their peers about reimagining school post-pandemic. Discussions are encouraged to be youth-led, with support and participation from adults as well. Insights and data gathered from Austin conversations will be analyzed to contribute to policy advocacy briefs to be shared back to the participating communities and state and federal education departments, nonprofit organizations, and educators.
The 100 Days of Conversations project has been reviewed and approved for external research by the district. Participation in the project is voluntary and should occur outside school time. Austin ISD is not conducting project activities.
Because this project is not conducted through Austin ISD, all facilitated conversations should occur after school hours but are encouraged to have teacher support. Discussions should ideally happen in small groups of 2-8 people to provide space for all voices to be heard.
