Cheer Tryout Application 2022-2023

We are so excited to have you try out to be a 2022-2023 Akins Varsity Cheerleader!

Tryout Deadlines:

2/22- Application due
2/22- Physical due. Must be turned into stacie.salazar@austinisd.org or to her office in the gym.
2/22- Teacher evaluations due. Must have 6 evaluations

Tryout Dates:

3/7-3/9- LEARN TRYOUT MATERIAL
3/10- MOCK TRYOUT
3/11-TRYOUTS

Requirements

Must be passing all classes
Must have the minimum of 6 good evaluations by teachers
Must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA
Must not have excessive absences
Must have cartwheel.
Must read entire cheer handbook and packet.

Candidate and parent/guardian must read the Cheer tryout packet in its entirety then submit this application.

Each Candidate Will be Judged on the Following:

Spirit Entrance
Cheer (will be provided by coach)
Dance ( will be provided by coach)
Fight song dance (will be provided by coach)
Tumbling (if applicable.)
Interview

Tryouts will take place on Friday, 3/11 in the Akins gym at 5:00 pm. Masks are required.

Tryout attire must be:

Black shorts
White shirt
White socks
Athletic or cheer shoes
Hair up in a ponytail and out of face
NO jewelry.
Natural makeup and nails only
